Starting September 30th, 2017, drivers could be paying an exorbitant $8+ toll to drive in the fast lane on I-680 in the San Ramon Valley or suffer from a dramatic 25% reduction in freeway capacity.  The I-680 SRV Express Lanes will charge drivers a toll all day long on weekdays, regardless of traffic conditions, and remove one available freeway lane for non-paying drivers during the midday.

It’s a terrible dilemma that will extend rush hour, slow down freeway drivers, and clog local roads with traffic (especially on Danville Boulevard).  And it’ll make driving around town a particular headache during midday, shoulder, and off-peak weekday hours.

We need to tell our local elected representatives NO to off-peak tolls on the Highway 680 Express Lanes. Scroll down to sign the petition or click here for more details on the project.

Speak Out!

Are you outraged yet?  Upset about not being able to back out of your own driveway or being able to pick up your kids from school?  Feeling like the these tolls are just a punitive tax?

If you’d prefer to call or e-mail the elected representatives in charge, send them the following message to their contact info below:

“I am outraged that the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) has decided to operate the I-680 Express Lanes all day long in the San Ramon Valley!  As a local resident, I am concerned about the gridlock this will cause in my town and neighborhood.

As my elected representative, I urge you to operate the I-680 Express Lanes only during peak commute hours, not during off-peak hours.  And I implore you to find funding to implement other currently unfunded I-680 traffic congestion mitigation projects.”
